righteousfool: (COLOR CODED ANGER LINES)

It was easy to find the wicked amongst the dwindling ranks of those left alive in the Yamanote circle - in fact, he would say they far outnumbered the people left that had any shards of goodness. It was a simple, sickening equation. The predators of humanity had been given the chance to show their true colors, in the lockdown - to go after other people as prey. Like hitting the sore spot of an injury to deepen the bruise, or prodding the flesh of a fruit far already past its prime, it wasn't that order had been lost. It was gone already, and evil was just waiting for the right moment to spill forth.

He could hear a woman's voice begging for forgiveness, and then the taunting laugh of who he immediately knew to be next to face Yama. He was in time to stop the criminal before the newest crime, and that made intervening easier than breathing.

There were two police officers wielding demons against a defenseless civilian. He couldn't muster up the insincerity to even try to be surprised.

"Above the law? Sounds like your heart rotted somewhere along the way..."

The venom in Keisuke's voice must have stung some twisted bit of one of the men's pride - he turned on his heel, an animal look of anger upon his face. His voice even growled to match. "What'd you say, little boy? How dare you take that tone with a police officer?!"

Oh. Funny, that. So much he didn't even remember to laugh. What a policeman was meant to stand for-- "Isn't it your duty to protect the law and serve the people? You're threatening someone!"

"Ha! Everyone is so intent on telling us what our "duty" is! The old ways are dead, kid! Anyone still trying to uphold those laws is a fool! It's time we started living smarter--!"

Exactly what he'd expected to hear. Keisuke lets his eyes fall shut, and nods to himself - "...I've heard enough. Talking to scum like you is a waste of time."

"What was that, you little bastard!? Say it again, kid! I dare ya! You're just as bad as that monster kid we ran into! Ya don't respect your elders!"

He wanted him to say it again? That was fine by him!

"I'll say it as many times as you want! You're scum, and talking to you is a waste!"

He ends his statement with an especial point of punctuation - Keisuke cuts a hand through the air to point at the corrupt officer's heart, and the air between them boils and ruptures into a seething flash of red and black, to give way to Yama's prompt arrival.

"Now... Face your judgment. Let's ask hell's magistrate, Yama, what your crimes are..."

Yama is only too eager to answer. His voice booms in a deep tone, full of meaning and power that no earthly throat could hope to replicate. "Thou hath abused and neglected thy position of to fulfill thy dark desires... For thine sins most grave, I sentence thee... to death!"

A pillar of fire slowly barrels forth with but a wave of Yama's hand. Still alive for the grace of his quick reflexes, the judged man screeches for an answer to what is this, and stop, monster!

Keisuke watches the scurrying of the damned impassively, but does deign to ask one last question.

"...Do you really think you can escape Yama's judgment?"
